Update: I will probably be losing my Lap Band
I am not going to be revising, my body just does not react well. I have been on the boards more than ever, because of the support and kinship. There is no need for you to leave.
Please do keep us posted.

Thank you sweetie, this is a whole new game for me, but I am ready for it, I want this hernia repaired where I can get on with my life and start excersing to get some weight off, but I can't do it now since it's painful with chest pains the hernia is causing. I think if I has the new AP band it would not be a problem to unbuckle the band, but 4cc band is another problem since it doesnt unbuckle and my hernia is pretty big. I am wishing you well too, I honestly don't want another weight loss surgery at this point either, too many issues to worry about all the time.
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
I have absolutely no desire to jump into the middle of the fray this thread has caused. Just want to say I'm sorry you're having to deal with this and that everything works out well for you, whatever you and your surgeon decide to do.
Good luck,
Jean

Best of Luck.
Strategize for relapses.
If you have a plan on how to deal with a relapse, you'll spend less negative energy on the relapse and be able to get back on track.

I had the 4ml band as well as a hernia and my band was also UNDONE as many others have tried to tell you, but you never listen. What unseen harm you have done to those that choose to listen to your incorrect stories and advice is yet to be seen, but I believe you should be banned from ANY weight loss type forum as you are clearly not trustworthy.
I had a new larger band placed in February this year, I have had dumping since then.. so to say it's the sleeve that causes this is wrong. It can happen to anyone regardless of the type of surgery we get. I am also steadily losing weight with this newer band, so AGAIN your claims are incorrect.
Please stop telling crap that others may listen too and perhaps just listen to others just once and you may actually learn something and turn this forum back into a support forum which it is supposed to be..

Lap banders DO NOT HAVE DUMPING SYNDROME....period. Before you send me a snide remark please have your facts correct. I can provide you with publications from the NIH that clearly STATES dumping is a side effect of the SLeeve, I have friends that DUMP with the Sleeve, again, there is no reason for lap banders to dump since the stomach is still intact.
Don't know why people try to hide the fact that many Sleevers have dumping syndrome, it's nothing to hide just like dumping is a known side effect of RNY, some people welcome this to stay on track to avoid carbs and sweets, but many people also may not want this side effect, knowledge is power and you need to gain more before you post on an open message board.
You may have another illness of why you are feeling the way you do ...sure people that have not ever had any weight loss surgery may suffer from hypoglecemia...which is debilitating illness similar to dumping syndrome.
And IF WERE CORRECT and you say you had a 4cc/10cm band and had a hernia...WHY DON'T YOU STILL HAVE YOUR OLD 4cc band when they repaired your hernia? I know why? Because they could not safely unbuckle the old 4cc band to repair ther hernia ...THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE THE NEW AP BAND.....case closed.
Below is WELL DOCUMENTED STUDIES OF DUMPING SYNDROME WITH THE Sleev and MANY DO have this....

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
A previous study has demonstrated that symptoms suggestive of dumping syndrome appear after a provocation test early after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in 45 % of patients, and these are mainly related to early dumping. The aim of this study is to evaluate the evolution of dumping symptoms during the first postoperative year.
METHODS:
Twenty-five non-diabetic morbidly obese patients (6 male, 19 female) were evaluated with an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) preoperatively, at 6 weeks and at 6 months postoperatively. In addition, 12 of them repeated the OGTT at 12 months after LSG. Sigstad score was used to separate dumpers from non-dumpers and Arts' questionnaire to differentiate between early and late dumping. Insulin and glucose levels were also measured.
RESULTS:
Sigstad score remained significantly elevated at 6 and 12 months postoperatively compared to preoperative values. Symptoms suggestive of dumping syndrome were recorded in 40 % of patients at 6 months and in 33 % at 12 months postoperatively. Arts' questionnaire demonstrated that early dumping score remained higher compared to baseline at 6 and 12 months postoperatively. Late dumping scores increased gradually during the time and that difference was statistically significant at 12 months after LSG. Hypoglycaemia occurred at 33 % of patients both at 6 and 12 months postoperatively.
CONCLUSIONS:
Symptoms suggestive of dumping syndrome after provocation still exist at 6 and 12 months in a significant proportion of patients after LSG and include both early and late dumping. These findings are consistent with the high incidence of hypoglycaemia after OGTT at 6 and 12 months after LSG.
