I see my band as a teaching tool to get the job done.  If I don't learn how to respect how much to put in my mouth, than I fail to learn.  It's so easy to cheat, so have to continue to be honest.

As of today I am still loosing at steady pace.

Strategize for relapses.
If you have a plan on how to deal with a relapse, you'll spend less negative energy on the relapse and be able to get back on track.

Starting weight 330 lbs: 1/2007    At goal weight: 180

At last! Someone who "gets" how the band is supposed to work. Too many people, long term bandsters as well, think the band should be tight enough to stop them from eating more than a few bites.

You have a good understanding of what your tool is. With that you should go far. Congratulations.

Yes, I am a long term bandster, and the band will NEVER stop us from eating, it HELPS us stop regardless of which type we have.

But I have to admit my 4cc band has done a VERY good job of that over 6 years of putting up a BRICK WALL of stopping me, could I go past that brick wall? Sure, but if I get that full feeling, I have no desire to eat more, and if I can't have a tool holding my hand and give me that full feeling and sigals, like a hiccup, burp or sneeze, it would be useless to me.

As they say you never know what you have until it's gone....

Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*,  lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!

Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight downsmiley

Exactly!  What a perfect way to describe it.  I've always said my band was a tool, but I never thought of it as a teaching tool.  Thanks!!!!!
