What are you eating today (Saturday)?

This morning, summer has returned to my corner of Tennessee. That means that I'm sure to encounter a customer today who's dismayed to see racks of coats and sweaters and angry that she can't find bathing suits. Ah, the joys of retail. Yesterday a drunken man pulled down his sweatpants and asked me to read the size on the label in the back. I declined and suggested that he disrobe in the men's fitting room instead of in the aisle next to women's lingerie.

My energy and endurance are improving by the moment since I started taking the iron supplement. I'm still struggling with ferocious hunger, but it's easier to deal with when I'm feeling better overall.

Today's food plan:
B: protein latte
S: soft-boiled egg
S: cheese protein bread
L: smoked turkey & provolone roll-up
S: trail mix
S: cashews
D: seafood salad (using surimi), Mexicana veggy salad (p.199 of Bandwagon Cookery)

My menus are sadly lacking in fruit (that makes me dump) and veggies, with the expected result on my lower GI tract, and the iron isn't helping. Since I'm getting enough protein, I need to start eating more veggies as soon as I'm able to eat more at each meal.

No exercise class today, just the usual running around the store.

Have a splendid day!

Jean

B: Protein Shake
S: Egg Beater/Ham Buritto
L: no idea, will be visiting the in-laws today
S: again see above
D: no idea, will still be at the in-laws
S: .....

Yeah a lot of my food choices are up in the air today since I won't be home. Hopefully wherever they decide to go for lunch, i'll have some decent options. I constantly have to fight with them when they want to go to McDonalds or some other fast food garbage provider.

Exercise: Lots of yardwork prep for the upcoming winter season

My elderly mother once pitched a fit because I wouldn't take her to McDonald's for lunch. I tried to explain to her that there was nothing there I could or would eat, but she didn't want to hear about it.

yeah they went for taco bell.

i ate part of taco salad (no shell). given the cirumstances it could have been a lot worse. especially since they went for chinese for dinner. would rather have cooked. ended up with pepper chicken and steamed veggies.

ah well, hopefully the exercise helped to counter that.

Why no veggies?  Doctor's orders?  How does he expect you to poop?  Why not steamed veggies steamed to a mush this early out?  You won't want them raw at this point, but steamed are yummy!

My dietitian instructed me to eat the protein first at every meal, then eat veggies if I still have room. So far I haven't had a lot of room for veggies in any form, but in the past few days I've been able to eat a bit more than the 1/4 cup I'd been able to eat, so I do see veggies on my plate in the near future!

I eat out all the time, so I never get to plan ahead! Volunteered all day today at a street festival so I ate part good and part bad!

B: scrambled egg with ham, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and tomato.
S: 1/2 of a mini lemon cupcake and 1 munchkin (at the street festival)!
D: 1/4 of a jerk chicken and pineapple quesadilla, it was awesome!

Road bike for 1 hour tonight.

Hope you all had a great day! It was beautiful in N FL, about 84 degrees! Street festival was great, we had dogs out for adoption.
