Flash back 3 1/2 years ago and I was almost 300 pounds.
I was winded and tired all the time.
I had trouble getting in my car to get to the grocery store so I could buy the Double Stuff Oreo's that I wanted to have for lunch.
Flash forward to 2 weeks ago ---- on vacation with my husband and friends in Wengen, Switzerland.
12-mile hike with backpacks on the Eiger Trail in the Swiss Alps ----
Germany and Switzerland are the lands of meat and bread!!! I get migraines from processed meat, so I was very careful to stay away from salami and most of the sausage options.
Even with eating a little more bread than normal -- and stocking up on Swiss cheese and wine, I managed to come home from my 2-week vacation 1 pound below my goal weight.
I know that the band is not for everyone -- and that it has caused pain and suffering for a lot of people.
I am grateful that my band has been a good partner for me.
I am grateful that Weigh****chers has helped me to learn how to eat and track my food and make wise and nutritional food choices.
I am grateful that OA has provided me experience, strength and hope - that I could use the fundamentals of its program to structure a way of eating that is changing my life.
I am grateful to this (and my local) support group that inspires and challenges me to stay honest and accountable.

Kath,
I'm still very jealous of your European vacation, but I'm very glad that your band and your hard work have wrought such wonderful changes in your life.
Thanks for sharing!
