Hi I started out with a nasal drip, fever and now chronic cough with some sputum.
what to do?  I do not have heart burn, but even sometimes sitting upright I cough.
Does all this mean I need to have the band deflated?

Sounds like reflux to me.  I have this, and you really should see your doctor, it can be serious!  I take Prilosec on an empty stomach 2x per day, first thing in the am and around 4:30 pm.  It needs to be at least 2 hours after eating and 1 hour before eating.  Never take it at bedtime cause it can cause reflux if taken then.  Should help in 2-3 days...call your doctor on Monday.

Not everything is band related. You may just have a cough! People without bands get coughs too! However, reflux can cause similar issues so it is worth asking your doc.

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Could be reflux, but my reflux cough is a dry one with no sputum. So my guess is that the post nasal drip, fever and cough are not band related. Call your doctor!

Post nasal drip is one of the questions asked in evaluating risk for silent reflux...
