2007 Bandster - who is still here? And who do I need to meet? :)
Jean! Melly! So great to see you're still on here, and that you seem to be happy with your revisions.
I think at the time I was posting in 2007-2008, I was "Sweetdaisy" something or another!
I had the Lap-Band done in 2007 (Jean we met in Atlanta at your hotel for breakfast one morning!). Started at 237.5, dropped to 157 in 9 months. Lost my dad and lost my way for a while. Got married a year later at 170. Had a baby a year after that at 187 unfilled. And another baby after that at 197. Happy happy happy few years......but it's showing on the scale!
So here we go again. Got a fill under flouro yesterday with a new surgeon (my original surgeon retired). First fill in a few years and everything structurally looks great (whew!). I am tight this morning but in a good way I think. Haven't felt true restriction in a long long time.
The surgeon had some interesting information on bands. I didn't realize how "out of fashion" they've become. He said last year he did 162 surgeries, placed 3 bands, and removed 18. There are even surgeries on this board I've never heard of - that's how long I've been away!
All in all, five years later.......still very happy with my band and very hopeful it will do what i need it to do as I start my 2nd journey back to the 150s.
Go little band go!

Welcome back! When I saw your thread with the pink daisy avatar, I thought, "Could it really, really be her?"

I am a little less than 2 years behind you -- so, not sure if we have seen each other here.
Congratulations on the babies and on getting back to the surgeon.
I have to agree that the stats we are seeing on 'removal vs placement' of bands is a little scary --- but I have what I have and am making the most of it.
Good to meet you!!! ---- Kath

I've been here since 2007 too don't know if you remember me or not. I had to have my band emptied last year and so far I'm about the same weight but I also only lost 20 lbs with the band. Mine kept tightening with no fills or for any reason at all so to be able to eat I finally gave up and had it emptied. Glad yours is still working tho, hope to get reaquainted with you now that you are back.
Hi I received my band April 30, 2007 still have the same one I went from 325 down to 160 but got very ill so I climbed but up now at 217 but happy with that. I also had 2 hip replacements with in that time too. Glad to see you again. I don't come on very often but will try to. I just lost my job...like many others so I figured before I get depressed I should come here and keep up with getting strength from my friends new and old, Congrats on the babies Enjoy every minute of them...Joanne
