How often do you weigh yourself, and why? Is your scale in charge of you,  or are you in charge of your scale?

When I was losing weight after my band I held it to about every 3 days but only counted one per week. I found that my weight would be all over the place during the week but when the day came to record it it would be consistent.

Since my revision I weigh daily since I am trying not to lose more. It isn't working but at least I know what is going on. This last week we were camping and I couldn't deep track and lost another 2 pounds putting me 5 pounds below my previous low weight. At my age geting too low isn't good.

Highest weight: 212.8 Current weight 135 Lost 77.8 pounds

I weigh myself every Friday morning and measure myself every 1st of the month.  This has been my routine from the beginning and I have a journal I write it all down it.

I have learned to pay more attention to the tape measure...especially since I lift weights and toned muscle will weigh more.  ...so I really look forward to the 1st of the month.

I used to weigh myself every week. Yes I was a slave to the scale. Once I stopped weighing myself I really started seeing a change in my body.

Thanks for posting this Jean.  I've been thinking about this a bit lately.  I weigh myself daily and record it each Sunday. Lately, in my plateau I've found that if I gain or don't lose or lose, then it seems the perfect excuse to have a scoop or some other treat.  I think for October, I will set a goal to weigh only on Sundays and quit letting the scale be my mood ring!

Once a week. And unfortunately I'm a bit of a slave to it. It can make my day, "woo hoo!" I lost such and such. Or it can make me a little down, "no loss this week! !grrr" But if I stop weighing all together, not a good sign. I don't want to know and it will creep up on me.

don't have a scale at home unfortunately. the one at the gym is broken. so i only can only weigh myself when we go to my inlaws. so basically 1-2 times a month. most of the time i have to rely on a tape measure for progress checks, which is fine with me. the drop in pants sizes usually is an indicator that i'm still losing weight :)

I weigh myself every day (first thing in the morning) because I know that the slow upward direction of my weight is something that put me on the road to obesity in the first place. Never weighing myself contributed to my denial about my obesity. But there have been times I've had to cut back to once a week because I was letting the numbers on my scale ruin my day.

Everyday for the same reason!

I rather be a slave than get on and see 20-30 more pounds.

I know me and I only don't weigh when I am gaining.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
