Thank you Lynn!
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
Could you give me some encouragement and advice because I had the band in 2007....I had three great years of losing the weight. I have now since gain 50 of those pounds back. I had to take the fill out several time to heal up. I have changed doctors because I felt like the doc that did the surgery was not taking the seriousness of me suffering with acid reflux. The doc I am seeing now is better in finding out the causes of my acid reflux.... he have done an ECG he stated that everything was find no slippage, and no hernia. I am schedule to go have a fill done on 10/11/2012 so, he can monitor me under his care. Since you have been band in 2005 I see that you have not given up hope. Do you think I will be able to lose once again? This is my first time sharing my story and on the forum.
Faith is what I have!
P.S.
Happy Belated Birthday & May God Bless You....

Hello...
As long as you have breath and a good functioning lap band there is always hope. If you are having acid reflux are you being treated for this? You may need to see a GI doc as well, what really made me feel good was Protonix (that heals erosion's in the esophagus and gastritis) and Carafate for the inflammation and I feel brand new only after 1 week of medication.
Sometimes it takes changing doctors to get answers and get the care we need, good for you in taking that first step, secondly you need to get a support system, your band refilled and any needed medications and get some type of exercise regimen going daily and you can get those 50 pounds back off.
Revisions ARE not the answer to every little problem, because every type of surgery has their own problems and sometimes the grass is not always greener. We often times think if we get a "stronger" surgery we will lose weight quicker, but that is far far from the truth. You need to get your band back to working and get your head in the right place again to be successful, start out supporting others in their journeys and this may help guide and inspire you to be successful as well.
Good luck

Nana,
Thank you so much.....You made me feel better already... what type of support group do you suggest? I do not have a GI doc but, as I mention I changed doc so that I can be monitored closely hopefully my band will be back working after my fill. I will keep you updated when I receive my fill as of today me and my hubby will start walking once again. I would consider my husband as a support system because he has been very good with supporting me with my band. He stated the other week that my band worked before it will work again! That is good encourage and motivation after reading your blog!
