Flying - the lapband
In a ŵritten reply, Allergen once said the band should not tighten while flying as the air pressure should not affect the saliine. But many people find stress make the band feel tighter and flying is stressful; all those deadlines!
my personal experince is that my band and I have flown ( from England) to Australia, India, New Zealand, Africa ( north and south), Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, North America and all over Europe and I have never had any problem.
But as I don't want to risk queueing in the aisle while the toilets are full, I tend to choose slider foods while in the air, just in case!

Sounds like a good business trip. I love flying first class, especially on international flights.

But MY band does get tighter in higher elevations, I can actually feel it getting tighter when I am swallowing when riding up mountains and this happens whether my band is very tight or not. I guess everyone ebb flow of saline is different, but many do experience a tighter band while flying and higher elevations.
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
