OMG peanut butter is my crack and I eat it everyday. Good thing is no weight problems with it.

Nine months into this and I've not had any bread, pasta, pizza, rice.  We don't keep salty/crunchy snacks and no sweets in the house.  Somewhat recently started having something when we're out - sharing if possible. I heard a program on NPR and the person suggested after a workout to have a glass of chocolate milk so I've been visiting Starbucks on the way home for hot chocolate. I'm sure this is not what they had in mind but I do go lowfat, no whip (as if...).  This week I'm on no sweets at all and trying to 1) control my food and not let it control me 2) tip the scales in the downward direction.  I've been stalled for a month + now and am trying a few different things and having some success.

I think sometimes all it takes to break a weight loss plateau is changing things up, because the body gets to be so efficient (and burning fewer calories) when we do the same thing over and over.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!! Did I mention ice cream? Fortunately like Jean I live in the country and just can't justify a 10 mi. trip for ice cream. On grocery shopping day I buy 1 pint and that is my ration for the week. Hopefully when the cold weather gets here it won't be so enticing.

My food demon changes from time to time, it used to be cakes, specifically, lemon frosted, chocolate, red velvet, strawberry shortcake. I honestly have a problem with these cakes, if I am on track even with good restriction and see one of these cakes in a eatery, or a slice in the grocery -- I can't leave without at least buying a slice..

However, I can pass on other junk food, burger, fries, chips, cookies, ice cream, etc.

Oh my food demons are cookies and cheesecake.  And it doesn't help that I make a really good Oreo cheesecake (mixing my two favorites).  What I do is I allow myself a once a month splurge, where I can indulge in a treat gulit free.  That has worked for me and I have been abl to maintain my wieght loss.  Oh and I never ever make my cheesecake anymore.  That would just open the flood gates!!!!

Cheeze Itz and pizza! I could eat a whole box of cheeze itz (after my pizza) before surgery. I'm still so early out that I wouldn't dare try either of them, but I look forward to reading and trying other people's strategies for later out when these may be an option.

That dumping might not last, so set yourself up for good habits now. I had trouble with it in the first 8 to 10 weeks and now it's pretty much gone and I can eat anything.

Right now I crave salt, the NUT thinks its b/c I am chronically dehydrated, I lose water at a very fast rate for some reason my body just does not like to hang onto it, so I drink a ton to compensate and my body looks for the salt to help it balance itself. So I have to be really careful not to over indulge in things that are crunchy and salty. My other vice is breakfast cereal, the sweeter the better and with whole milk thank you (I have to keep it in the house for my underweight three year old, so it's always a temptation).

The dumping going away in another few weeks sounds good...hope will keep me going....

Not to get too far into the TMI department, but do you find that you pee a lot as your body hastens to get rid of the water? I've been wondering if that's a problem for me because no urologist has ever been able to explain my frequent & profuse urination, and no medication ever helped it.
