What are you eating today?

When I first joined OH (back in the Stone Ages), members took turns posting a daily "What are you eating" thread here on the band forum. Since the other day someone asked about what bandsters eat, and we all need menu inspiration from time to time, I'm going to try to ressurrect that thread, starting by telling you what I'll be eating today. This also functions as an accountability practice for me.

I have to warn you that I'm still trying to adjust to eating with my new sleeve, and since I can only eat a few bites at a time and get voraciously hungry an hour after eating, you're going to think I'm eating an awful lot more than I actually am, but the kinds of foods I eat now are the same as the kinds I ate when I was banded.

B: protein latte
S: scrambled egg beater w/ cheese
S: cinnamon protein bread
S: Greek yogurt w/ fresh cherries
L: pureed corned beef, Triscuits (note: I eat purees when I'm at work because I have only one 15-minute break and I can't eat solid food in only 15 minutes)
S: trail mix (my own: nuts, chopped protein bars, banana chips, a little bit of dried fruit)
S: almonds
D: swordfish w/ a little mustard basil butter, bulgur salad w/ chopped pecans & craisins
S: banana-oat-protein "cookie"

Yum Jean I saw that cinnamon protein bread that sounds good and something different what is it called ?

Here is my plan

Breakfast
4 oz steak and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese

Lunch
perfect portion chicken breast , half slice of melted cheese on top (2% ) ,  1/4 cup of mushrooms on top of the cheese ,,   1/2 cup of green beans

Dinner
cheeseburger on a lettuce wrap and a few baked fries

Exercise   60 min of Zumba tonight

Snacks   grapes and jello .

Trying really hard to stay out of the chips and sweets , got the once a month cravings going on big time right now *sigh*

Mushrooms and cheese on top of chicken? Can't get much better than that!

The cinnamon protein bread was a Pinterest find.

Next time I make it, I'm going to back off the cinnamon a bit, but it's very moist and chewy. I can eat a piece about 2"x2"x2" and it makes me feel like I've had a coffeecake treat.

I bet that would be fantastic with the pumpkin and then instead of a all the cinnimon you could do cloves or nutmeg, almost give it a pumpkin pie kind of twist!

You're probably right, but I may just be the only adult in the United States who doesn't care for pumpkin!

Maybe gingerbread then! Mmmm, add ginger, nutmeg and cloves instead of cinnamon! I have had about 2 million ideas on how to make this awesome since you posted it LOL I think I am going to attempt it today (I have about 20 quarts of pumpkin canned from last year that I need to use up LOL Not to mention the near 30 quarts of apple sauce from apple picking a few weeks ago!).

Gingerbread sounds good. I don't want to get bored with this recipe too fast, so the gingerbread approach might be next on my to-do list.

30 quarts of applesauce? THIRTY?!

LOL when you have four kids picking apples while you aren't really watching, ends you up with about a ton of apples LOL Plus they eat about a quart a week, so it's just about a years worth for less then half the price I would have paid to buy it, and I know exactly whats in it, apples and lemons and that's it!

Bless your heart. I don't have the patience to peel enough apples for just one quart of applesauce.
