i am just curious for us who have had the lap band for awhile and have had many fills. what are you eating on any given day? what have you not eating anymore now that you have had the lapband. i am two years post op. so i no longer eat beef, pork, bread, donuts, bagels, raw carrots and broccoli for some examples. just wondering what everyone else is doing on any given day. need new ideas.

There are no foods I never eat. And that is how I have lived since I was banded six and a half years ago. I knew that if I deprived myself totally of anything, it would just make me want it the more. I know for some people it is easier to cut things out completely, but not for me!

Having been below goal since 2007, i just eat a normal menu, just small quantities and the occasional few weeks cutting back if the pounds go on!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

My answer is basically the same as Kate's. I could eat just about any food in a small amount if it was properly prepared.

I haven't been on this board for a while, but for a long time there, one or two members would post a "What are you eating today?" thread. It was a great way to get menu ideas. You might want to post something like that too.

I've always been able to eat most foods in my 7 years, I don't keep my band tight enough to prevent me from eating ALL foods -- I like to keep my band loose enough to eat at least half an apple if I want one, however I do avoid most foods like donuts, bagels, and white bread, etc.

These are some yummy recipe ideas that I borrowed, hopefully they can give you some ideas on how to make your diet yummy and lose weight at the same time.

I can eat anything I want also , I keep my band on the looser side also .

I dont think I could go the rest of my life not being able to eat chicken, salads, raw carrots, pork because that is a big part of my diet now and its healthy foods .

I eat chicken probably five times a week, a day of pork and then maybe a steak  or sometimes it might be the other way around 4 days of pork .

I eat alot of salads also I eat probably a salad a day sometimes two times a day.

Instead of bread I eat Mission Low Carb tortillas.  they are 19 carbs but has 13 grams of fiber in it.  I make breakfast burritos out of them ,  Philly cheese steaks, or even enchiladas .  My family loves them .

I have been banded for 3 1/2 years and have always been able to eat anything...just in smaller portions.  I very rarely eat donuts or any white carbs.  I eat complex carbs and lean protein.  Of course I will splurge once in a great while.

I am over 3 years banded, at my goal weight and on vacation.

So, yesterday I had
1scrambled egg, a piece of Swiss cheese, a few bites of sausage and a few bites of melon

Lunch
A few bites of salad
1/4serving of spaghetti with pesto and chunks of white fish

Dinner
Capresse salad of sliced tomato and fresh mozzerella
1 piece of thin crust pizza

2 glasses of white wine

We walked over 12 miles ---my husband supplemented his day with 2 scoops of Hagen-Dasz, I don't eat ice cream any more so inadequate some water.
