Good morning everyone!
I just found out that I am pregnant with my second child! I am very excited but I am also fearful b/c this is my first pregnancy with the lap band!
Has anyone on here experienced pregnancy with the lap band? I would really appreciate some advice.
Did you get completely unfilled right after finding out you were pregnant?
Did you experience any complications due to the band?

I got pregnant about 6 months after being banded, with twins! They were a little nervous about the twin factor so emptied my band pretty early. If I had a chance to do it over, I would have had them unfill it slowly, especially since my OB didn't want me to gain much weight. I have heard of some women only getting small unfills during their pregnancies, so I think it depends on you and your doctor. I gained a lot of weight, but there were 2 in there, and lost most of it fairly quickly. Getting back to where I was has been challenging as far as the "green zone" but I think that's due to the complete unfill, and also me not having time to go back as much as I'd like to.
I had no complications and no discomfort during my pregnancy that could be blamed on the band.

My DD was schedualed for the lapband when the test came back pos for pg. OPPS! So I don't have first hand knowledge of pg and band but, have seen several here.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
I had my 2nd child after I had the band for 6 years. I did pretty good until the end. The last month left of my pregnancy I had my band emptied on the advise of my OB. Baby was not putting much weight on at the end. I barley put on 10 pounds through the hole thing. Had baby girl on Dec, 12, 2011 She is heathly and beautiful.
I just had my band baby 4 months ago. She is a complete dream baby. I got pregnant 5 short months after getting my band. It turns out when you lose 50 pounds, you become quite fertile. LOL I had absolutely no complicaations. I had to have an unfill by choice because of morning sickness. I wish now that I would of only had a small unfill, but it helped my morning sickness. I took zofran to help with nausea because it is not good to vomit with your band all the time according to the doctor. I have started receiving fills again and hopefully will begin losing weight once more. I wish you all the luck! By the way, Payton came out perfect and big! Trust me, she had no problems with the limited food restriction! LOL
