No more PPi's for me...just figured out why I was burning and having other issues

After thinking about it, I had this in my medicine cabinet last year when I was having the shortness of breath and coughing when I got most of the saline removed from my band and the side effects made me think I was having lap band issues.
It was very confusing because when you take a PPI you would THINK it would calm burning and heartburn, but I started burning worse, and I also had other symptoms, shortness of breath, bloating, my stomach started to swell as if I was pregnant and I was feeling sick and I would burn from different areas all over from my back to mid section, throat, even tingling burning in my arms and I had insomnia and could not sleep -- I had no idea what was wrong and I was thinking something was wrong with my band.
I just researched the side effects of this drug and found out some of the side effects can cause gastritis which can be very dangerous to lap banders! Which explains my bloating and other horrible symptoms, I even had my husband take me to the ER last week late at night because I had trouble breathing and started coughing phelm and I thought I was aspirating into my lungs from my lap band, but when they xrayed me, and had me take all these tests, even looked at my band and nothing showed up wrong, I had an EKG, nothing wrong.
I also had a Upper GI last week, and my band was perfect no problems, so this confused me more. I stopped the generic protonix for a few days and the breathing problems had stopped. So yesterday morning before work out of curiosity I took another generic protonix to see if this was the root of my problem and when I got to work, I started feeling sick again along with irritability and the shortness of breath RETURNED and bloating, with burning and tingling in my back and arms.
So I am thinking this entire ISSUE was caused by this generic Protonix and for me, it's dangerous and I am allergic to it, I had to take a benedryl last night to sleep. I will still get a endoscopy to check out the insides of my stomach, but I will not take anymore PPIs for awhile since I really don't need them for my lap band, I will just stick with TUMs if I get heartburn from eating spicy foods....also PPIs long term for many people are very harmful and cause bone issues and problems absorbing B12. I am happy that I don't have to depend on any PPI at this point since my band really don't cause heartburn too often.
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down

If I ever need any other type of PPi or any type of prescription medication in the future, I will make sure they will not be generic!

Since I've stopped the generic protonix, no more problems....in fact the heartburn is gone with no meds....I will report my side effects of that horrible drug to the FDA, the band does not cause bloating and arm tingling. Trust me, if my band caused these issues every single day...it will be gone bye bye...I can't live in misery with nothing..longer than fews days.....
By the way...no reason to block anyone at this point, I don't post here often enough to get agitated any more...Whether you believe it or not, I am not the band cheerleader you think I am, I just tell the truth, if I am having issues,or if I caused them...so far my band is still kicking and I am very grateful for that.
