3 years post-op, down 100#s and HAPPY!!!
I don't get on often...too busy living life now that I can. I had my lapband surgery in August 2009. I just hit the official 100# lost mark...though really I've lost about 110 from my highest weight pre-surgery.
I always take a first day of school picture when my kids do...it's a great way to view progress! I started in size 22/24 and XXL clothing and now wear size 8-10 or L depending on the cut/style. I could have lost more by now, but still struggle with organized exercise, so it's more of my being more active, than actually "excercising" regularly.
I have never had a single complication with my band (so far, knock on wood) and FOR ME it has been the best possible tool! I hope for anyone considering their band, do your research and talk to real people face-to-face about the plusses and minuses along their journey. I have learned a ton about myself, my food issues and my emotional issues, I learn something new about myself everyday...due in large part to the band. I have also found that while others notice and comment on how good I look, I now relish how good I feel!
If anyone would like to visit about MY experience with the band, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I'll talk. I'd say PM me, but I seriously don't get on here that often.
