I have read here many times that allergan now states the band is not meant to last a lifetime. Does anyone know where I can find this specifically? I told my surgeon and his PA this yesterday and neither of thim had heard this news. TIA

Thank you Stephanie! I had found the same document but it was so much to go through I couldn't find specifically where it said that. I'll print it out and highlight it for them for when I see them next.  I had an appointment on Friday and asked for some tests to check my band, I have had some troubling signs/symptoms so now i'll be doing an upper GI and an endoscopy. If there is any issue found i'll see about revising to a sleeve. Fortunately with my insurance company I can have a revision with a normal BMI if there is a problem with the band.

This is a link that was posted for the person whose band opened up.  In it Allergan tells the FDA it
isn't meant to last a lifetime when there was and Issue rather than admit to a faulty band.

You know I was told at the band mill prior to banding that it was a lifetime product. I also thought I had seen that in Allergan's ads but wasn't sure, so I called Allergan directly and asked them and they assured me that the Lap-Band was in fact a lifetime product. They are no longer saying that at this time, but I think everyone of us that was told that and now know differently should be entitled to a revision at Allergan's expense!

Okay................... Good luck with that, Maria.

Maybe I can get my money back then, that would be nice.

Well, I did tell you what my surgeon said when I wanted my band,
That I wouldn't get my money back if I kept it.  Not sure what he
heard as he just shrugged when I asked what he meant.  Wouldn't
that be nice!
