Band is out

I got my band removed Tuesday!  Wasn't as bad as the first surgery but not a whole lot easier.  The ga**** my shoulder to day.  The incision by the belly button is really sore and hard.  Will be getting a thermometer tomorrow.

They sure don't treat you the same when you get the band out than when they put it in.  I thought they would want me on a liquid diet before, nope.  I hit surgery at 9:15 and was out the door at 1:30.  No diet which blew my mind.  You would think they would want you on liquid and/or mushies.  No belly band, glad I still had mine.

The band is out but, after much insisting I got it.  After all I did have it for
3.5 years.  Even though it was a love hate relationship

I didn't want mine after it came out.  We have too many irreconcileable differences.

You'll be feeling much better now that it's out. Will you be revising also?

While I was in the middle of this the insurance went to once in a lifetime.
I was told by the head CS person that I had to do ABC and I SHOULD
get it.  Than after a week  I was told they had taken the vote to change
and my pcp didn't do ABC.  Called the PCP and they said they talked
to the head CS and she had been told I was good to go.

The next week I talked to head of referal and she said as ABC hadn't
been done before the vote I was out of luck but, if I did XYZ I might get a revision.  So, over the next month XYZ happened.  Now the go between between PCP and Insurance says no go and Insurance won't return my
calls.

Not looking at all good if I can't get them to even return my calls.

Hugs! They're really giving you the run around. Hate it when that happens. And as far as the "one per lifetime" I honestly believe the reason that many ins. companies have started doing that is b/c of the huge number of revision required of bandsters! :-( But at least you were able to get it removed. I spent 5 hrs. in ER yesterday and couldn't even get then to remove my fluid! :-(

he he!  Didn't think of that!

But when I asked the surgeon for it he said a strange thing.
He said, "If you take your band they won't pay you for it."
HMMMMM!  He just shruged when I asked what he ment.

Just wondering if there is something in the works.

Hi, My band was removed on 8/30.  But I was told to be on pureed, ground foods for 4-6 weeks.
Sounds like a long time....I have a post op on the 12th so I'll revisit that order.  :)

Really that does seam a long time.  Did you have a slip or erosion?
That would make since.  I wish they had given me something other
than Normal.  I'm so hungry I am up to normal food.  I did do 2 days
of shake just to be safe.

Good luck to you.  Please let me know how it goes.

No, I didn't have a slip.  I did try regular food and all is well.
I have my post-op tomorrow.
How are you doing?
