Well, wife might be preggers, again!

First off let me say, this was just home tests talking.  She's getting a blood test at her Doc today.

Ross is 9 1/2 months old.  Will be about 1 1/2 years old when #2 comes along if this is all true.

I'm very excited.  yet, very nervous.  Two under 2.  Plus I work in a town 25 miles away from her.

Can anyone share any experiences with me?  I'd love to hear from people who have kids with 1 1/2 years of age.  I know the first year especially is going to be very stressful.

Congratulations!

My kids are only 14 months apart.  It can be a little daunting to have two so close in age, but there are definitely benefits.

My husband worked about fifty miles away and we managed pretty well.  It was nice to get the diapers and bottles over with at the same time instead of having gaps in between.

Growing up the kids were pretty close.  Much easier to plan activities for them than if they had been five years a part.  I think they are much closer because of the close ages.  They are both very protective of each other.

The only negative that I've seen in having them so close is that there is no break in college.  It's five years straight of tuition with three of those years having two tuitions!  Having two in college at the same time is definitely a juggling act.  Especially when they both wind up at the same private school!  At least DD is finished in May.  Of course she's talking about grad school now.

I'm sure you and you're wife will do fine.  It's a bit of a challenge but it's well worth it.

Thanks for the congrats!

Sounds like we are in similar boats.  With kids so close in age and hubby working so far away.  I may lean on you for support, if that's OK.

Hey, is your hubby a reader?  I'm looking for books on the subject...but no luck so far.  Thanks!

Does sound like we're in the same boat.  I was so happy a few years ago when my husband started working closer to home.  Now he's even farther away!  He also travels a lot now.

I never found any good books on having kids close togeher.  Just some stuff about birth order.  I have to say my younger one was easier than the first.  Much for laid back.  Still the same today.

Up until 2 1/2 weeks ago, we lived in the same town as I work.  But our house was too small, and the sleepy town I work in had nothing for sale.  So we moved, and upgraded, to a town 25 miles away that has more to do.  So I'll have to drive every day, and lose my lunch hours at home, but, small price.  My wife has family in the new town.  Plus she and our son are going to ECFE (Mommy and Me), so that should expand her social network.  So we'll be OK.  Thanks!

Hey Brock, long time no see. LOL
Congrats!!
My two oldest are 13 months apart. Boy/girl. They learned everything together, shared everything together and are very close. It wasn't too bad, just twice the fun.

 Hi Brock,
I have 3 boys.  Between 1st and 2nd 3 years 9 months.  2nd and 3rd 16 months.

Closer in age was so much easier.  As one was coming out of a stage the other was entering.  No time to forget LOL

The thing I loved the best is that they always have a friend. With my oldest it always seemed when we went to go anywhere he always wanted to invite someone his own age.    So instead of heading out the door with 4 boys ( yes I am including the hubby) I ended up with 5 boys.

I was lucky that my 2 got along so well.  My older brothers are 12 months apart and did not get along at all.  The oldest is now 52 and is still a bossy git.

Remember, if you want to be a 155 pound person, you have to EAT like one.
