I'm back and need help!!!!
Hi guys I've been of the board for quite some time; early dec I weighed 156lbs and had 1ml taken out of my band ready for my tummy tuck in early jan on the operation day the surgeon emptied my band and therefore my nurse would only re fill every month a certain amount so it took some time to get restriction back therefore I gained a lot of weight. I've spent all year feeling depressed about my weight and now I am trying but I always end up eating the bad stuff on a evening (I'm a comfort eater) I am so fed up of this; last year i was so happy with my weight loss and was almost at target and looking forward to my tummy tuck and now I see no way out of this hole. I have a Swedish band that holds 11mls and apparently I have 10mls in it how much more can I have in? I don't know what to do I currently weigh 177lbs and I hardly have any restriction I am eating meals I ate per band any advice would be very helpful.
Thanks x

As I told someone earlier you first of all need to forgive yourself for being human. Having wls does not cure the disease we suffer from. It is a chronic disease and will never be gone, only in remission. All is not lost, you really haven't gained that much. I know what you are thinking, it is always too much, but it could be worse.
The first thing to do is to evaluate whether you need a fill. There are some questions to ask yourself: If I eat around 4 oz. of dense protein and some veggies then stop do I get truly hungry within around 4 hours? Do I get stuck easily? Am I getting a minimum of 60 grams of dense protein (not soft) and 64 oz. if fluid a day. Am I journeling every bite? (Even the ones you consider "bad") You know, there are no bad foods, just ones that aren't in our best intrest most of the time. Are you resorting to sliders? If you get hungry too soon, get a fill. Bands can typically hold more fluid than their stated capacity. Get to some support groups, see a counselor, what ever you need to do. Get a bit more exercise than you normally would. Take it one day at a time.
You have not failed unless you give up. If you have a mostly good day with one misstep then give yourself a pat on the back for the good stuff. Call it progress and ignore the other. Gradually decrease the calorie count and amount of the junk stuff. You don't even have to go cold turkey.
Keep coming here I know you can do this.

Thank you for your reply I tried eating small portions and found I was Hungary between meals so now I'm eating larger portions I am booked in and I'm going to ask for a fill next week I am so glad I have come back on the forum as the support is great and will help keep ,e motivated. I do exercise but just lately have been feeling so tired I just hope I can get back on track! I am meeting with a banded friend next week which will be a great support. I just feel so lost and off track I thought my tummy tuck would complete my happiness but I just feel worse!
Thank you again for the advice
