Hello! I was banded on 10-28-2011. I have lost 90 lbs! MY journey has been so far so good. Recently I have been having pain in my left shoulder, going all the way down my arm. I thought it was my heart and went to the ER. Had lots of tests and they say it is not my heart. I also get this aching under my left breast.... as well as my left leg aches? I have been reading a lot about lap band causing vagus nerve problems and I am very nervous this is happening to me. Does that sound like a vagus nerve issue? I am terrified to lose my band, I have never been happier. I have been reading these horror stories about how people hate the band and it has ruined their lives. I am so worried. Any advice? I love my band.

It certainly sounds like a Vagus nerve issue. Sometimes it resolves when the band is removed, sometimes it causes permanent damage. Nicci is our expert on the Vagus nerve. If she doesn't see your post and respond on here you can find her on the failed band group.

Good luck!

I would call my bariatric surgeon... And start there and with a endoscopy.

If you have ruled out cardiac, the next step is probably to full out or in a gastro problem like ulcers.

Don't panic just yet. There are other things it can be. As the others have said, call your surgeon and get in. Take it one step at a time. If indeed it is the band causing it then you would see about a revision but please don't worry yourself to death until you know for sure. (((HUGS)))
