Hello everyone...My family is taking a trip (first ever) to Disney World, Fl.. I was just thinking of all the "Great" food they have there...lol..You know the kind I shouldn't eat...I was wondering if anyone has any tips on food.... We will be eating a light breakfast every day. But....we will have lunch in the park (lite i hope) and then we have reservatins at the "Buffet's".. I know bad idea..But, the package we bought came with all our lunches and dinners. I need some serious help here... Lucky, I live near Disney and I can tell you that actually Disney World has lots of healty and good tasting food available. Just about all places there have at least 3-4 things on their menu that would problably work real well for someone with the band.
Have fun.

We got the same deal Lucky !! We are going from Nov 23rd to the 29Th. I will have to pull my son out of school for a week but he is a Senior anyways so no biggie there .
It was a great deal like you said and couldn't pass it up.
I have been to Disney three times and the food is awesome. They put alot of food on the plate though you will get your money's worth , my son and hubby always had to finish mine off and that was before I got the band lol.
I do recommend though trying one of their turkey legs the vendors sells lol. Oh my gosh those things are so good and moist . We get one and split it between us :o)
Have fun you will have a blast !!! I'm so excited about going again it is one of my favorite parks because they look out for the overweight guests .so they can enjoy the park and even ride the rides not like Universal and Busch Gardens where if you are overweight you cant ride anything :o(

Before I went last May I found sites that rated the different eating places. I read all the menus in advance and decided when, where and what I was going to eat before I went. I started doing Atkins hard core trying to get 20 pounds off before I headed out with two little boys by myself. Ended up losing 30. Came back within 1/2 a pound!
We ended up with way more food than we could eat. We also was able to eat pretty good.
Have a wonderful trip

I visit Disney every year and of course, one of the great draws would be all the amazing restaurants! Head to www.allears.net and look at the dining menus for the restaurants you will be eating in. What's wonderful about Disney is that there are always healthy options. Just because you don't see it on the menu, doesn't mean they can't accomodate you. When I make my dining reservations, I let them know a member of the party has a lapband and when we are seated, the chef comes out to talk to me about what I can and cannot tolerate and they'll even make the portions a little smaller for me. They are very accomodating. For quick service (counter service) lunches, there is always rotisserie chicken, salads, etc available to you. The buffets won't be as tricky as you think either. Usually there are some great options but once again, if they know in advance you need to be accomodated, then they will. I hope this helps! I will be there in 33 days so I can give you updates on certain restaurants if needed

I live in Florida, and have done the disney thing many times. I agree with the turkey leg for sure, great way to grab lunch at the park. I guess buffets are ok if you pick the right foods and don't worry about eating your moneys worth. Personally, I would stay away from the buffets but that's just me. Have a magical time!
