So glad to hear this. Yes mine will be BOB surgery. I need to get this weight back off due to joint issues. I don't think you can loose weight on any plan as fast as the bypass. It was like you go to bed next day you lost 5 lbs. When I think back though loosing weight so fast was not good and I was starving myself. I want a tool not a miracle. You have done great! I have to have a hernia repair the same day as surgery. I am not rushing into this I told my husband a lot of research. soul searching and of course lots of praying to come up with the right answer. I think some of the issues people have they do bring on themselves. You have to follow the rules. Same as with bypass. Thanks and God bless.

When I went in for my BOB, they found a massive hiatal hernia as well.  They took care of it and I don't think it did anything to my recovery time.  I flew home across the country two days after my surgery.  Best of luck to you and keep us informed.

LOL I flew home across the country too! I was in Tijuana with Dr. Corvala and flew home to Boston 48 hours later.

You have done GREAT! You sound just like me bypass and fell off the track about 7 years later. I am getting the band and hope I can do as well as you. I know with the bypass the weight just melts. I lost 100 in 6 months and dr. predicted only 70lbs would be lost. I am right now just 70 overweight. I need to do as well as you and get the weight off my joints. Thanks for sharing your story.

I had my B.O.B 2 years ago. My RNY was done in 2000 and I had gained everything back within 6 years. I had the band placed over my bypass in 2010 and dropped 102 pounds in 2 years.

I attribute my success to doing my part. I eat all the right things and work out 3-4 times per week. What you should do is really evaluate your own situation. With your hip replacement, etc. will it be viable for you to put the work in? If so, then go for it. If not, you may want to look at other options to succeed in your weight loss.

Either way, I wish you the very best of luck!
