Unsure!
I am planning the lapband in oct. I hear so many say they don't loose on the band, I had RNY and it was great lost weight while sleeping. I know the lapband is different and loose a lot slower. I have read more people against than or the band. I am not sure I should have it. Please bandsters give me your honest opinion on your expereicne with bad and if you are sorry you did it or happy. Had my RNY in 04 and kept if off for 6 years then hurt knee and had hip replacement which stopped my walking and exercising so I have gain most back. Lost80 lbs which was great only predicted 70/ My BMI is below 35 fight now so right on the brink so can't loose weight before. Thank!

From my observations..........revisions after RNY should be the DS. MUCH more effective than the band, or ROSE. Bands work short term at best. In my opinion they will not be around much longer. Many Drs. are now refusing to do bands b/c of all the complications associated with them.
Do more research and pray about it. Take your time and be sure.
Good luck!
I am 8 months out. Down 70 pounds. Simply put, "You must do your part!" When I don't eat the right foods and slack on my protein, the scale gives me my consequence. I absolutely LOVE my band. This is MY journey..doesn't matter who loves it or hate it. It is working for me. I see the results. The weight loss is slow but steady. I went from wearing a 3X to a size 12. I am about 40lbs from goal. Just do your research before making a decision!
Does that mean you are getting the band over your bypass? I have a B.O.B and while I lost 155 lbs. in a year with my RNY after about 7 years I started to gain weight even with eating healthy and exercising. I had an upper GI done and found that my stoma had stretched and food was going right through and that is why I was hungry all the time. I had a band placed over my bypass on March 1st of this year and have lost 52 pounds and am already at my goal in just 6 months. My BMI was 31.5 when I went in to surgery and is now 23.6. I follow the rules, exercise quite a bit and drink lots of water. I've had a few minor issues, but it was all because I either eat too fast or took too big of a bite of something. I am so happy with my decision to have the B.O.B and would do it over again.
