I have erosion

Had an endoscope today, my band has eroded into my stomache.  Waiting to hear back from my surgeon, who is away on vacation.  i would assume this needs to be dealt with immediately, althought endo doc said it was probably several months old.  I would love a revision to a sleeve or bypass but my office/hospital only does the band. 

I have never had my band tight, let alone too tight. 

Sorry - for the problem - it's just the luck of the draw IMHO - They can take it out - let it heal and replace..   Good Luck

Putting another band in after an erosion is NEVER a good option!

 I'm really sorry to hear that. But you don't want to wait to long it will only get worse. If it is eroded it should come out like "yesterday".

Im kinda irked my surgeon didn't call me today.  I know he is away on vacation but IMO you either leave another doc to cover you, or you plan on covering yourself. I spoke with his office who were going to email him.  That was at 3pm.   I will be on the phone tomorrow. 

Sorry  to hear this.  Yes you are right to expect to hear from him if he didn't leave someone to cover for him.

As far as the revision, I would have your office/hospital remove the band.  Than I would find someone that does the sleeve and find out about it.  I would excpect you will have to wait several months to heal from the erosion.

Sorry to hear this. I hope your doc gets in touch with you soon. Erosion is a pretty serious complication... I'd think they'd want to get you in as soon as possible.

Ugh...so sorry to hear this! What symptoms did you have? Hope you can get this fixed and maybe a revision soon!

We have the same doctor, that sucks he didn't call you back. He's usually good about that. I think he's the only surgeon there now that Arthur is gone? He needs to get someone else on board!

You should ask for Julie next time you call...she's kind of a no BS type of person and I would think she would help get you in touch with Dr. Glasgow if he hasn't called you yet. Hopefully he has!
