any WLS veteran want to buddy up with a newbie?
I am happy to! I am new to this website, but I had surgery in 2002. Overall, I have lost 350lbs...150lbs since banding. I was 600 at my largest, back in 1996-7. I also helped w support groups back when I was 1 & 2 years out. Currently, I am prepping for panniculectomy : - o
I am easily available via my smartphone also. Guess a moderator needs to approve my post first! Congrats on losing 9 lbs, at least that's what the box says Lol

Wow, at ten years out, think you are our "oldest" bandster. And an incredible loss! Wow again! I am "only" six years out! Think Mona is almost as long banded as you are. Bette is 8, quite a few of us around 6 but all the other long term vets I know no longer come here. So good to see you.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Thankk you, Portnoy!
Wow... That is a major weight loss! My surgery is slated for 8/30. I have been on the pre-op diet for just over a week now and have now lost 11 pounds! Of courrse, I am having to get used to the sticks and twigs diet! LOL
I look forward to losing more weight and finally getting back into better shape. I am a bit nervous about the initial transition time. I am really hoping that I will not be sick as I take seizure meds and can not affoerd to not be able to hold them down.
I hope your surgery goes smoothly. When is it scheduled?

I am happy to see such a long term bandster also. I am not a band fan; but, it always makes me happy to see someone with such long term success.
Are there any secrets you can give to us to prevent problems and keep the bands we do have?
I do keep mine on the looser side.
Congratulations on your weight loss.
