DS on 08/20/12

After 275 pounds f weight loss I am converting from banded plication to DS. The band with plication has worked very well for me allowing me to lose close to 175 pounds. So I can definitely say my first proceedure was a success. But, as expected my weight loss has come to a crawl. So, as planned, it's time for the revision to DS which will hopefully help me lose another 150 pounds or so. We have been working on insurance approval for the revision since the beginning of the year. After a long, greuling process I was given the approval a couple of weeks ago. I went for all of my pre op testing last week. I will be having my surgery this Monday, August 20th. One thing that will be interesting to see is the changes in the liver. They did a biopsy with my first surgery in January of 2011 which showed stage one liver damage.They will do another biopsy with this surgery. Then they will compare the two to see how much improvement there come with losing weight. Not looing forward to the recovery process because I now know what to expect. However I am hoping it will be easier this time around because I am much more mobile. With the last surgery I was wheelchair bound. Since losing the weight I have lost I am now able to walk up 3 1/2 miles I know the more walking I do the faster my recovery will be.

Congratulations on losing so much weight already. You should be proud of yourself. Wishing you a successful and safe surgery on Monday.

I'm very nervous but ecited ti finally get this done. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I'll be in recovery.

You my Dear are beautiful! You have really worked your Band,. I am revising to the Sleeve on September 24th and I feel like I am losing a good friend. My Band has been very good to me. Good Luck with your DS! I think it's GREAT!

Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months! My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12! I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve! Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!
