Hello restriction, I've missed you!

One week ago I got my 4th fill.  My first was 4cc (Realize band, doc says they need more fluid to start) and then I had 2 CCs removed.  Because I was doing so well (weight loss wise), the doctor I saw, only gave me .5 for fills 2 and 3. I get not wanting to break what's working but I should have gone back sooner than 6 weeks (vacation got in the way). Anyway, last week I got 1.5 CCs added and it feels good to feel full after I eat. While I was still losing these past couple months, I hope to pick up on the downhill run.

I have a realize band also, my doctor never tells me how many CCs is in my band he does not want me hung up on how much fluid is in the band.  Only he knows.  I have never had any removed from my band and have had 4 fills in 4 year time frame.  As long as a 1/2 to 1 cup of food keeps me full for over 4 hours my band is working.  So just wanted to point out to newbies don't count the fluid in your band, instead count your portions and calories and don't get hung up what someone else has in there band everyone is different.

Great post. Being a newbie myself, I appreciate this.

Minnie, I am one month behind you. Great job!

Nance, great advice! It is hard learning when one is truly full since we always ate whenever we wanted. I have been lucky with just one fill.

Thanks all.  Nanc, you're right about it's not how much fill but what ya get with what ya got. I'm just glad to have a better sense of restriction again. I was getting hungry in a couple hours. Sue, you're doing fantastic, celebrate girl!
