She's scheduled for revision to sleeve TODAY.
Revision on 08/21/12
She seems very positive. She still posts on OH but after the awful reception she got when she posted. that she had problems, she stays in the private groups.
Rather sad. As a result of the vicious attacks on her, a couple of vets who needed support didn't feel able to post on here to ask for support or to inform others. They feared the barrage of "I told you so" responses and the gloating of those who predict failure. Luckily, they can get the support they need elsewhere.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
I have never known where this view came from. Jean is very forthright and responded accordingly to those who behave foolishly with their eating. But she always gave support to those who were trying and, despite themselves, failing. In her book she lists all potential complications. She never denied that things could go wrong however hard a bandster might try.
I have seen her give support for those struggling and genuine sympathy for those whom the band failed. What she didn't do was pander to those who were not working with the band and expect he band to do everything for fhem.

I am happy Jean does still post on another site I visit! I say she is still a band supporter.Come on... bands just sometimes are like men.. so unpredictable lol
Glad she was able to have her band removed and revise to the sleeve, not many insurance companies would pay for as many replacements, corrections and now revision as hers has. Good Luck to her.
