Frustrated

I had lap band surgery back in March of 2011.  Lost the first 50lbs by November 2011 with no trouble.  Since then I have only lost about 5 lbs.  It is a constant yo yo of lose 2 gain 2, etc.  I have battled my band being to tight, then to loose, and back and forth several times.  I am eating what I am suppose to so I thought maybe if I added more exercise that may help so I started taking Zumba 4-5 times week.  Been doing that since April and still not losing.  Still have about 30-40 more pounds to lose.  Very frustrated and I do not know what else to do to get the weight moving!!!

I completely understand! Are you weighing yourself everyday? If you are, then stop. Try to limit weigh-in's to once per week. This way you see less of the back and forth yo-yo type stuff.

What got me out of my plateau is joining My Fitness Pal (myfitnesspal.com). It's free and once you add your info, it will tell you how many calories, how many grams of protein, fat, sugar, carbs, etc. you can have per day to lose 1-2 pounds per week safely. As long as you journal your food honestly, it should help. I've been using it for a month and love it! Try it out and see what you think    You can do this!

Sometimes upping your daily calories by 250 breaks the stall. Also, try weight lifting instead of Zumba for a short time. No one know why these 2 things work, but they do for many people.

I understand how you feel I had surgery 18 months ago and I've only lost 30 lbs.  I need to loose at least 30 more but no matter what I just can't seem to loose.  I've started walking 2 1/2 miles in a hour, I also have really been watching what I eat (trying to not eat too many carbs)  Good luck to you..
