Hi

Has anyone had any experience with lapband "and" having a plication?  I'm curious to hear about that.

Thanks

Warm Regards,

 Hi there,

I am in the Pre Op and will be having lapband surgery in the next two months.  I am 280 pounds and am looking for something to help me loose weight.  Do you have any advise regarding lapband.

From what I've read it is a pretty new procedure and has a bad reputation for causing the folded part of the stomach to die and there is no guaratee it can be taken down once installed. Myself I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole but that's me. Sounds like it's working for Pinkflipflops but I just worry about long term. I wasted 4 yrs. of my life on a useless band so I'm not at all into unproven procedures. Guess it depends on how adventurous you are with your body.

I am having that surgery in two days!  Very happy and excited with my decision.  I will let you know how it goes.

I had the lap band & plication January 10, 2011. With that I have lost over 175 lbs with no complications and no problems. With about 150 more pounds to lose I converted to DS last Monday. When my surgeon went in and examined my plicated stomach it was still in tact and perectly healthey so we went with the option to keep the plication, replace the band and just reroute my intestines like the DS. No point in undoing the plication & cutting my stomach when it was stil fine & healthy from the plication.

Lap Band with Greater Curvature Plication 1/10/11, Conversion to DS 8/20/12
