True dat, Lisa!

I just popped in to read and say hi today and it does seem like a vast wasteland in Lap-Band forum world!

I am still here. Still doing well. Had a slight post tummy tuck, injury induced, and not assisted by slight band problem regain but in the scheme of things it's no big deal. Back on track now and hoping to actually make it to my end goal of 160 in the next few months.

Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

 I am here.

Still successful, still happy with my band and plastics.

I am busy with life and family this Summer.  We have been camping and traveling and hiking all summer.

The bickering here gets overwhelming at times, so I read and post when I feel I can offer support, and stay out of the fray the rest of the time.

I am here every day too.  It is so great to see some of 'the oldtimers' replies.   I agree, it sure isn't like when I started out with my band (2009)
Hopefully, things will turn around and this place will become more enjoyable again.

I am here too!  I read weekly and only post when I feel I can offer anything.  It is difficult to give advice to the newbies when others are telling them that it is the most evil of all WLS and they will regret it!  I hate reading that.  I have never regretted my decision.  Never once!  I occasionally read other forums and the Sleeve in particular is extremely active and helpful for their patients.  I don't think it is always necessary to be so negative.  I do appreciate hearing about the problems when someone is factual and not accusative.  The good and bad need to be heard, it's the "you will fail" that needs to not be said, "EVER!"  There are many successful Lapbanders out there.  I attend a support group in Denver where everyone has had success and most are 6 and 7 years out.

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

I am still around and still love my band, just don't post much.  I'm like the others don't care for all the negative attitudes. I also miss the boards the way they once were. It was like eveyone was one big family and they all cared for each other. Everyone was there to encourage each other and we used to pass clothes on to each other as we lost weight. It was nice when you needed someone, that there was always someone one the board to listen and answer your questions, helping each other and not putting others down. I miss the way the board used to be and all the wonderful people that used to post.

Unfortunately those people look at our truth and experiences with lapband and revising to a different WLS are negative.

It is not negative.  It's just the truth.

I don't hang out here much anymore because it s not the same anymore with the ever-increasing band failures and more people are revising.

My surgeon won't do bands anymore either.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.
