The world seems to be spinning faster ATM...There was a time I could work all day, do school in afternoon, hit the gym, raise kids, apply for grants, date, write, and still have tons of time for posting on OH and fb....lately I cant seem to get the minimum done....thinking it will all settle as I get the classroom like I want it and then get my gym times back on track (too many kids in pool ATM with school being on vacation for many districts, makes it hard to work.)
...just keep swimming,

I look in sometimes but have been geteting so upset by the people who tell me they daren't post because if they say they are having problems they will get told "what do you expect with the band" and " you will need a revision".
So I only really participate on boards where I don't have to tiptoe to avoid being criticised. I like balance on both sides and have always tried to maintain that. But I find other boards give me that balance without the nastiness.

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
FWIW, I am still here LOL. I read everyday ...just havent posted much because of the same reasons Bette mentioned. I do agree with Hislady that it's slow partly because of the time of year. My two year anniversary is coming up soon too so I have been forcing myself to exercise daily for the past month. My energy level is through the roof! I hope to report some successful results by the 25th :)
5.0 cc in a 10cc lapband (four fills) 1 unfill of .5cc on 5/24/2011.
.5 fill March 2012. unfill of .25cc May 2012. Unfill of .5cc June 2014.
Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since
last small unfill.

This site has changed so dramatically since I first started almost 4 years ago. We used to post food lists, we talked about the plateau buster diet, we did Fun Friday and Wednesday B*&%h sessions, we shared before and after pictures regularly, we talked about the differences between our Dr.'s food progression protocols, we explained the mysteries of getting stuck, pb'ing and sliming, and most importantly we shared NSV's often! And, yes, we supported each other through challenging times and difficulties too.
The focus was never on the Band itself but on our individual journeys as we learned and practiced a new lifestyle. I was excited to have an opportunity to use this tool to help me acheive my WL goals and the band worked for me. But, I did my part by making the changes necessary to my overall diet and activity level and it was sometimes a struggle. Life with the band is not perfect for me and I'm very honest about the challenges I've had.
Unfortunately, times have changed and open forums are not always my cup of tea. There's no place on earth where I can go and like eveyone there, share everyone's beliefs and trust that people are being truthful or have my best interest in mind. So, I pick and choose the people I associate with on public forums just like in life and ignore the rest.
My advice to newbies? Look for the people that motivate you or you feel like you "click" with. Reach out to them via PM and ask your questions. I've made many lasting friends that way and I couldn't have had the success I've had without them.
Best~
