Hi there!

Wow, you give me such hope!  I'm having my surgery next Friday, Aug 17th, and my starting weight IS around 243. I can't even picture myself looking like you in about a year.  It's hard to see that at this point.

I've been over-weight my adult life, after the birth of my 1st son (21 years ago).

Do you have anything about your journey that you can share that might be helpful to someone like me; just starting out?

Again, you look fabulous!!! :)

Thanks

Warm Regards,
Fran

domika03,

Thank you for finding inspiration in my post, that's exactly why I do them. I found inspiration in so many posts before I finally decided on WLS. So it warms my heart to think that I am giving someone that "extra" shove or piece of mind.

Advice for someone like you would be, #1 is the is a LONG process and you are in it for the long run. At first if I stood on the scale and didn't see any change from the last time I got discouraged.... DON'T do that, keep following your band rules FOR LIFE. You will get where you want to be but it will take dedication and time. You didn't put the weight on over night and its not coming off over night.

At first yes, the weight fell off almost effortlessly.. but then I actually had to move and sweat and exercise to maintain the loss. But when you're alot lighter and healthier it is easier than when you were at 243.. trust me I have been there.

Its an emotional roller coaster too, so just remember the people who love you and get the support when you need it. Follow up with your doctor is almost as important and the band itself so DO IT!.

I am friend requesting you so we can stay in touch. TTYL :)
