I need help with losing weight.  it just is hard as hell to come off!!   My dr. says 1000 calories a day, but it is hard!!  I work 6am to 3pm, take care of my 88 year old mom and stage 3 partner with breast cancer.   I don't want to seem like a baby I just would love daily food ideas that are basic simple   (and I mean simple   )

My dr says it is a matter of how bad i want my weight loss!  I agree but I also want to lose it with a little simplicity in the cooking dept!

Thanks

Wait! You had your surgery in 07 and he still wants you on a thousand calories a day???

I'm no doctor but that sounds, to me, VERY low for someone that far out. I'd say you might want to see a nutritionist for suggestions.

Banded 10 years & maintaining my weight loss!! Any questions, message me.

I have kaiser and that is what they say, and even the nutritionist does too!   I am too old and a tad tired to do 1000 a day but am giving it the old try!!  thanks

Ok here is one that is quick and easy:

High Protein Spinach Gorgonzola Cheese Quiche Cup WLS Recipe

Sounds awesome doesn’t it?! I love quiche, and I love cheese, like spinach. So the High Protein Spinach Gorgonzola Quiche Cups are a win-win with me!

I got the recipe from Linda Farnsworth from EatinWellLivingThin. If you are looking for some healthy, low calorie, low carb, low sugar recipes, then check out her wesite!

SPINACH-GORGANZOLA QUICHE CUPS

I love quiche in any way, shape, or form.  It’s comforting to me…the possibilities are innumerable…and they are protein-filled while being fairly low in calories.  A complete meal in a finger food!  (I love LOADED quiche, so I added a little more spinach in the ones photographed.)

These freeze wonderfully, so make lots.  It’s not any more work to do a double batch!

1 medium sweet onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons butter

One 10-ounce package frozen, chopped spinach, thawed

1/2 cup Gorgonzola cheese

1/4 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese

6 eggs

1/2 cup skim milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon salt-free Italian seasoning

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Dash cayenne pepper

Dash freshly grated nutmeg

Use the crock pot. Cook up a lot of soup, roast, whatever at one time and then freeze to have at a later time. Progresso chicken enchelada soup is quick and easy as is oatmeal with protein added, frozen encheladas from TJ's, frozen fish sticks. I also do a lot of yogurt, protein shakes and protein bars.

The spinach gorgonzola bites that I posted are good for portion control, you can double the recipe and freeze them and nuke up at later times.

Also try to avoid drinking your calories. If you do, make it a frapp with protein added, a protein shake, or occasionally juice. And I still avoid drinking during or 30 mins. after meals.

Very sorry about your partner! Hugs!!!

Thanks Ann!

Another tip.........I use a salad plate instead of a regular dinner plate (if I fill my plate.......I'm getting less that way) and a smaller bowl.

Good luck!

Those quiche cups are one of my favorite recipes, and I have to triple the recipe bc everyone in the house eats them. I'll do them for dinner one night with a salad and its always well received at the dinner table.

Yeah I love them. Quick and easy, plus I can make extras and put in the freezer to nuke later. :-)
