1 week post-op, struggling with "mind hunger"

So I'm one week out, and the swelling is finally starting to go away. I've made sure to keep up on my liquids and protein. I'm feeling full and not hungry. One thing that is hard is what my surgeon refers to as "mind hunger". Basically, my all liquid diet is making me a little crazy. And at my 1 week appointment I was told I need to stay on it another week. Anytime my family cooks food, I automatically crave it, and it's been hard not being able to chew on anything. I'm able to mentally stay strong and keep with my plan, but I wanted to know if there are any tricks to make it a bit easier. Any advice helps

There is probably some true hunger to that mind hunger. Very few of us get restriction from surgery alone and it begins sometimes a very short or sometimes lony cycle of tial and errors to get good restriction. Don't be alarmed if your stomach is growling or if when you start foods you dont feel anything different. It can take a while. Good Luck.

Hang in there! I had head hunger, but no real hunger and still don't! Keep your mind occupied. I am online all night or doing some exercise in front of the tv. I hope it stays with you like it has me. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I didn't lose the bloated feeling for several weeks.

As long as it's ok with your doc to eat them...I sometimes used sugar free popsicles when I craved something sweet and buillon when I craved something salty.  Very low calorie and it gave me something to do when my family ate.
