HELP!!!

I've been banded since August 26, 2011 and this is the first problem I'm experiencing. Saturday night I warmed up a piece of chicken and tried to eat it. Well it got stuck my 2nd stuck episode since being banded and I ended up vomiting. I planed to do liquids Sunday but my husband wanted to go out for dinner I ate a little and was fine until later on that night I took a vitamin and that made me vomit (maybe because I had nothing in my stomach). Monday I had only liquids and again in the evening after trying to take a vitamin c I vomited again. Tuesday I was able to drink liquids not shakes though and felt a lot better so decided not to go to the dr. Well today I feel horrible and it's hard for me to take in even liquids. Idk what could be wrong. I thought at first maybe the band was irritated because of the vomiting now I'm worried that it may be something more serious. The physisians assistant who usually does fills and unfolds isn't in today but will be in tomorrow. Should I try to see the dr today instead? Help.

If you are having trouble taking in liquids you need to call your doc ASAP. Do not wait until tomorrow.  I have had stuck episodes where my stomach was so irritated that I did have to do liquids for 2-3 days and then soft foods for 2-3 days. That would be okay if you were taking in all liquids including your shakes. It is never safe to not be able to drink. Please call your doc.

Please let us know what happens.

I went to the dr. This afternoon and I feel much better. She took out over half of my fill I was at a 5.5 in a 10cc band and she took out 3. I was advised to be on liquids for the next 2 day and mushers on day 3 just as a precaution. After not being able to swallow my own spit I'm fine with that. Can't wait to be able to eat again I haven't had anything to eat since Sunday.

Glad your went to doc for an unfill.

Any time I get stuck per docs instructions, I would go back on liquids for 48 hours and mushies for 48 hours.

Once you get stuck, if you eat it aggrivates the swelling and you spiral.  If you stop the swelling in it's tracks, you may be able to prevent an unfill.

Good Luck.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thanks Pineview01 I think I learned my lesson, but if I ever have another stuck episode I will follow your advice I think my biggest mistake was trying to eat agin the next day.  I never want to feel like that again.  I think tomorrow I can finally eat something I will still stay in the mushies though - I haven't eaten since Sunday that almost a week.

I had to check it and see how you were feeling.  So glad that you took the boards advice and went to the Doctor.  Glad that it was something as simple and removing some fluid.  How is it going now?
