(((( Judy ))))) as always a thoughtful and balanced reply.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Kate, when my surgeon retired, we has discussed stats. His stats were amazing. He had an extremely low minor complication rate. He had zero serious complications. Almost all of his patients had been successful. I know that is vague, but I do not have access to his specific stats and I do not want to make up numbers. I appreciate that serious problems happen. I also appreciate Nic and Zee and some of the others who are supportive and informative. I know these people truly care and are not just here to bash the band.
I am a success and am very fortunate to be one. I have worked hard. I have never had an unfill or a complication. My band was placed almost 5 years ago.
I admit I fear complications down the road, and have considered revising to the sleeve, but for now I am going to sit tight (or not so tight!) with my little 14ml AP!

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

I'm not surprised to read that most of the problems that NHS treat come from patients who came from self pay private facilities and/or patients who are poorly educated about the band.
Great post!
