Lap Band on 01/30/12
I did not think it was nearly as bad as when I had my hysterectomy! You cannot drive as long as you are on pain meds. I took them at night to ensure I slept well for the first week, but I had hiatal her is repair also. That pain was greater than the band pain.

I don't have children, so I won't adress that, but remember it will be six weeks before you can do anything strenuous.

Best wishes!
 Sue

I am a pathetic baby with pain. I took a week off from work but I have a physically hard job. I also stay nauseous from anethesia for a long time. Basicallly a couple of days on the couch, took pain meds and nausea meds for a couple of days. Drove myself to the doctor, which was 60 miles, on day three and was done with pain meds by then. The port was sore, and hurt if I bumped it for another week or so. In the beginning you eat, well drink actually little sips all the time, which is time consuming. I think online school will not be a problem.

Rebecca,

You got this girl.  Like you said if your Doctor can handle it so can you.  Visit often and once in awhile stop in and say hi.

Best of luck to you.
