I haven't posted in forever.  I and having such a hard time getting control on myself.  How do you know the band failed and not you. I have been struggling for a while now and I have an appointment with the Dr on Thursday. I hope she doesn't tell me I'm the failure. I feel like crying!!!

Hello Butterfly -

First let me say that you are not failing...It looks as if you already lost quite a bit of weight.  You should just take a good look at what you are eating.

Also, Dr. Cooperstone did my band for me.  And he left the practice and now my Dr is Heather McMullen...I see that is your Dr also.  She is NOT the type to say that you failed.  She is very concerned for all of her patients.  I was concerned when I learnt that Dr Cooperstone left.  But after meeting with Dr McMullen all my fears were gone.  I do love her.  Just talk to her.

Dr. McMullen left and now we have Dr Gibbs.  I met her twice and she was disappointed by my weight gain so I haven't been back in over a year since then I have gained another 10 lbs.  I need to get back there because if I keep this up I will gain it all.  I guess that is the first step to step up and say I need help.  Hope Dr. Gibbs is kind and don't make me feel like a failure because i don't know what I will do if that happens.

and my doc is not the most supportive, but I said, "Screw you.  I'm doing this for ME.  Not YOU!" and I walked in and had him take some fluid out when he thought he should pump me full of more fluid.  I stuck to what I knew was right.  I'm working my band.  read my post below.  My point???? Who cares if your doc is "proud" of you or not????  In the long run he/she doesn't matter.   YOu and your family matters.

You've lost 100 lbs, how's that a failure?  What's happening with you that has you so upset?  Are you able to eat dense protein, veggies and a cup of food at a meal?  Are you hungry between meals? What are you eating?
I was having a lot of problems for months and was depending on slider foods and didn't lose anything for about a year.  Since having a complete unfill, I've lost about 5 lbs in the last two weeks...
Hope your doctor is able to recognize your success, rather than scolding you!
Steph

Just forgetting all the rules.  Old habits slipping back.  I guess one good thing is I realized it before I gained it all back.  Time to face the music.  I need to come here more.  Get help because old habit have rises up in me again.  get focused and think of me first again.  Stop sitting on my past achievements of success and letting them wither and die.  Feel and remember the pain I felt about if I didn't get healthy I would lose my life. Remember the burden I was to my DH because of my limited abilityBe accountable Be committed Be honest with myself and other who are trying to help me. Move more and eat less...lol Journal food and feeling everyday .

All those things you listed are so much harder than a person thinks when you've gone off the wagon for a while. I completely understand. It takes so much effort to chart, to count, to shop, prep, cook for your band. But YOU are so worth it!

What do you need to get in the game? A shopping list and a post it on the kitchen cabinet of approved snack choices?  Nothing like a blatant slap from yourself to keep you straight.  This method actually helped me get back to it when I started sliding down that slippery slop.

Find what you need and do so quickly. Today is your day!

I also started reusing my surgery plate and my baby spork. That visual of a bandster size meal helped.
