Success... with "complications"

I don't post here too often... but I wanted to check in with an update. I just hit 299 today and am absolutely THRILLED!! I recomitted to the band again a few months ago when I thought I might lose it. I decided instead to give it another shot and to repair a hiatal hernia & re-position my band. (I am about a week and half post surgery) It was a decision I really really agonized over... but am happy that I decided to keep my band.

It has been HARD the past few months working with a wonky band... but I managed to stay focused and positive. I lost 32 pounds since the end of April... and I am really really proud of that. To see a 2 in front of my weight... well... it is AWESOME! It has been FAAAAR too long since I have seen that!

I am looking forward to getting my first fill again in a few weeks and exploring restriction with my "new" old band. I hope this is the END of my complications.  My new goal is to lose 15 pounds in the next 6 weeks to revisit 100 pounds lost. That is the lowest I got post lapband, and I am looking forward to smashing that record!!  I can't wait to reincorperate exercise in!! Only 4 days until I am cleared. Yay! :)

I justed wanted to offer encouragement to those who may be struggling... or those who are just starting out. We never know how our journey will go... we have to make the best of it!!  My journey has not been what I thought it would be... not as easy as I thought it would be... but I am healthier than I was. And that was always the main goal.

That's awesome news!  I was having problems too, had a complete unfill, which I thought didn't relieve my symptoms, but over the last 10 days or so I'm seeing improvement, and I've lost 4.5 lb!!!! I'm really hoping to lose without a fill and get rid of another 40 lb or so.  So happy you're doing better!

Great job! I hope you continue to do well also!! 4.5 pounds in 10 days without a fill is GREAT!

Will you be able to get fill again eventually?

I'm not sure if I want a fill, ever....scary territory since I was too tight with only 3.5cc in my 11cc band.  I'm 62 and have had at least 10 major surgeries...don't want another.

Understandable. I am nervous to start the fill process all over again. I have had so many over the years... I think I have finally figured out through all of this where "I" am comfortable... so I will probably keep it a little on the loose side.

I hope you continue to do well!! :) And can avoid any more surgeries!! I never had ANY before the band. 4 in 4 years is more than enough for me. ;)

What surgeries have you had? We're they because of the band?

The galbladder was because of weightloss... so indirectly because of the band.
