Fill, 8.5 years out! Yeesh!

Went to see my surgeon today for the first time in a year. I actually weigh 3 pounds less than I did last year but I still want to get back down into my "comfort zone."

I am very unhappy where my weight is right now, but he reminded me that I have to remember where I started out (376), how well I have done and to never negate that. Also, I am fighting against hormones or a lack thereof (age almost 53 and postmenopausal) which will cause my body to want to put on weight.

After a lengthy discussion, we agreed that what is needed is a two-pronged approach.

1. a tiny fill, and
2. for me to get my head out of my butt: MINDFUL eating, no grazing, a return to focus on proper amounts of protein, dilligently keeping a food diary, getting back to the gym. He's also hooking me up with a Bariatric Advantage vitamin program for "people in financial need".

Got a POINT-THREE (0.3) cc fill and man oh man, I am snug tonight!

I guess this really is a LIFETIME process - something I keep forgetting.

Best wishes to you! I love the BA vitamins. Glad they have a program to help you out.

That is definitely one thing I like about the band. We can always adjust it. 3 lbs less is good, better than 3 lbs heavier.
As I was leaving the gym today, I though,t it is going to take me a long time to get back into shape, like I want to be, but then reminded myself, it took a long time to get out of shape. It won't be overnight no matter how much I wish, hope and pray, LOL
I recently took my head out of my butt, it likes to go there way to often. Glad your Dr hooked you up with the vitamins. You are doing and have always done great. Today when riding in the car and one of those O band commercials comes on, "at least 50 lbs overweight", don't you wish you had the surgery when you were ONLY 50 lbs overweight?? I sure do. I could still lose 50 lbs, I might be a bit underweight, but I would qualify.
Hope you have a good week. Bandster queen!!
Oh, and by the way "something"!!

Had my first fill yesterday.  2 cc's.  After drinking a glass of water, he asked me if I wanted a little more. Of course I said, SURE!  Let's try it!    He put in .5 more and OMGosh!  What a big difference.  I was amazed.  I felt a glass of water go down.  Needless to say, he took the .5 out.   Lol....  I never would have known that such a small amount made a big difference.    He said, "if water won't flow, then chicken won't go."   I'll remember that forever!

For me, my last two fills ( over three years ago!) were just  0.1 cc.. Such a tiny amount to make all the difference.

I was wondering about a tiny fill myself but then we started selling our house and buying a different one! Just a teensy, weensy bit stressful! No fill needed! This amount will do me nicely! And I also realised that even before the stress, I didn't need a fill - I needed to get my head sorted!

I do need to be honest here! Off to alter my ticker! Doing it immediately. Six months of total food snd alcohol relaxation! Oops! Altered! Honesty prevails!

I can definately relate to "MINDFUL eating, no grazing, return to focus...."  Although I'm not grazing I do need to re-focus on getting in the proper amounts of protein.  Sometimes it's a struggle bc of my work schedule but we'll get there and a small fill is sometimes just what we need.  I was thinking just the same this morning for myself.  You know I'm pulling for you girlie girl!!!
