It probably would be easier and faster to schedule the local doctor unless your band surgeon determines it an emergency.

Tracy, it's not an elective surgery at this point. What my band doctor told me was it needed to come out ASAP, since he didn't want me ending up in the ER in the middle of the night and having whatever general surgeon who was on call to do my surgery. He said that the GB can become infected and it becomes a life or death matter. Since the GB is near your stomach, band, tubing, someone who is familiar with AGBs needs to do the surgery. Get it scheduled ASAP. I got my results on Thursday and was in the OR on Monday morning. They wanted to do it on Friday, but for some reason we couldn't.

BTW, I was originally diagnoses with gallstones in March 2006 and waited until I had my LapBand in August 2008 to have it removed. WORST MISTAKE EVER.
