To fill or not too fill
Remember, the band isn't an Easy Button, it's a tool to help us make good decisions. My Band guru (try reading her blog Losing the Fluff) motivates me to try not to rely on my band to tell me when I'm full but to listen to my body and stop eating before I feel the tightness of the band. I actually had my band loosened recently (after my tummy tuck the swelling around my stomach made me so tight I couldn't keep anything down) so I'm really trying to put into practice what she talks about. I eat lean protein (not shakes that slide ride on by the band) and fruit/veggies and eat slowly so my body has time to enjoy eating and so I can recognize when I'm full without depending on the tightness of the band. My nose starts to drip a little when I'm full, so I watch for that. I'm at 1.5 cc of a 10 cc band and have kept the weight off since my tummy tuck by eating healthy (with a cookie thrown in here and there) and trying to exercise as much as I can three weeks post-surgery. Exercise is a big must! I don't do anything fancy, I walk my dog two times a day and either ride my indoor bike or walk in the evening with my husband.
Good luck! I really believe that when you stop relying on your band to make you full, you'll get more out of having it.

Hi!
If you're not sure whether you need a fill or not, is it possible to request that you have an adjustment under flouro? I was having the same issues, and after they looked at me swallow barium under flouro, turned out I was too tight. Who knew? Now I feel just right. As long as I eat 2-3 oz. dense protein and then my veggies and/or fruits, my band is REALLY working. I am so grateful they were able to take a look at my band because if they hadn't, I probably would have had them put MORE in. I was surprised to hear that I had too much in my band. You might want to ask. It would be well worth the trip. Good luck to you.
