Paula, sorry you had a bad experience.

Like Kath, my band did exactly what I was told it would do. It enables me to be satisfied with small portions of food. For the first  time in 30 odd years, I have not only lost weight ( in fact I lost too much), but I have kept it off. For me, it has never caused eating problems.

It is not the right surgery for everyone and for some it can cause very nasty problems. But it was the right surgery for me. Is it forever? No idea! May well not be, but even if it isn't, I made the correct decision.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I don't understand how it "stopped working" in just three months? Did it slip or cause a problem? Because if your surgeon follows a traditional approach to fills, you got your first one 6 weeks post op, second and subsequent fills 2-4 weeks apart thereafter. So at three months you'd maybe had three fills... which may or may not have been enough to get you good restriction. Doesn't sound like the band ever had time to start working.
