Just A Thought............
Why don't we stop doing threads and posts on who should not be allowed to post on this PUBLIC FORUM?! After all, it's the Lap-Band forum and ANY bandster or former bandster is entitled to post on here. If we all stick to the topics posted instead of trying to cause drama by saying certain bandsters should not post here it would be a much more pleasant place.
So what's it going to be people? Are we going to let this forum be a place to support and EDUCATE bandsters/prospective bandsters, or is going to be a battle ground? We have the opportunity to heal others that were where we were at one time. Do we want to step up and share our expereinces and information with them? Or do we want to fight amongst ourselves? I say let's try to make this a POSITIVE forum where other bandsters/former bandsters are not attacked. State your opinons on the TOPICS, not the bandster!
Now let's all try to make this a nicer playground. ;-)

I'm doing the best I can, except for when I lost it yesterday with a certain poster. Today I'm blocking everyone who thinks my post's are scary. I really and sincerely do not want to scare anyone, ESPECIALLY the newly banded, and I don't want the newly banded feeling discouraged by any of my replies.

But at least you did it on HERE and directly TO the person as opposed to doing it behind their back. The only way things get resolved is to direct comments at the person you disagree with. Always pays to be up front and HONEST! :-)
You know Pumpkin when I just read that you don't want to "scare" anyone it reminded me of the TV show "Scared Straight" when the people on the path of jail are taken to jail and the convicts scare them in hopes that it'll wake them up and they won't follow in your foot steps.
I did my research in 2007 which was before many of you even had your bands and subsequent problems and the more and more I read in 2007 I was SCARED and here I am 5 years later and thankful that the research I did scared me straight and AWAY from getting the band.
I just wanted to tell you to keep doing what you do and well that's about it.

I know what you mean, Ms Shell!
I had surgery in 2003... NO information on it whatsoever. Had the band removed in 2005... and have watched the SAME exact things happening over and over and over. And that's why it kills me to just keep repeating myself... and people don't listen. It may have finally gotten through my thick skull just recently.
I think it was about the thousandth time I heard, "Just because it happened to YOU doesn't mean it's going to happen to everyone" this week. And 9 times out of 10, it DOES happen to the very people saying that. It's like a running script that never varies and never changes.
But, what do I know, right? I've only been watching it for close to a decade now.

Thanks Shell, and why the hell didn't you come say hello to me in Las Vegas
Just my own personal opinion on this topic...I think we need to save the head in the sand photos and recommendations to revise (as the first option) for those who have demonstrated they are having long term issues and have sought medical attention for them without any success...I think that would go a long way towards keeping people paying attention if we want to help them rather than scaring them away. If they leave or we block them, then the message goes unheard.
