Do you really get blasted for being successful with your band? That's insane.

Buckeyegirl, no, I have never been blasted for success but I have been told-

You are one of the lucky one
You will understand better WHEN your band fails

I have been told I am naive, that I lie, that I invent facts and statistics.

Te amusing thing is that I get it from both sides. One side tells me I lie because I disgree that my band will inevtiably fail; then a very infamous poster tells me I am a disgrace to banding because I admit the band can fail!

Sort of proves I may be holding the middle ground!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Kate ,

I have been told many times also you are one of the lucky ones, or wait till your band fails you also.  It's like they are almost sitting there in anticipation waiting for you to fail or to come back on here and say you need a revision *sigh*.  one of the many reasons why I dont post on here anymore .

Yes. Not all of those who have had problems are like that, but enough to make it unpleasant.

I really am aware that I may develop problems and I truly do appreciate knowing what to watch out for. But I get quite upset when newbies PM me, worried sick that the operation which they have already had is going to inevitably lead to pain, damage and failure!

Or when those who are new and are having mild problems get told over and over that they are going to have to revise because of their problems when a simple trip to the doctor could alleviate the problem in most cases.  We as banders are not allowed to offer our advice without attack and it causes newbies to be so afraid they overreact instead of reacting to a problem.

Well, that is equally insane.

I also haven't really had the experience of "curse the band, that's fine" but I'm not overly concerned.

Here's to your continued success,

Lindsey
