Now that my band is gone

I love going out to eat now!

What were your excuses for getting up to puke 5 times during a meal?
My friends knew I wasn't peeing. They knew that dumb band wouldn't let me get a bite down.
I remember I couldn't even get egg drop soup down. So embarrassing.

I love going out to eat with friends... No running to the bathroom! No embarrassing excuses!
I eat my lil meal, and I'm good.

Yep me too!!

i even puked at work and it was very embarrassing!   Some must have thought I was being bulimic.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

oh yeah, going out to eat, work, family barbecues, Christmas, Thanksgiving, weddings, etc...

Never looked forward to family get togethers, dining out or anything normal people would look forward to.  Whole different ball game now that the band is out.... :)

Good for you.  You sound as though you are feeling quite liberated.  I know what you mean about the vomiting and having such difficulty eating.  I was just dealing with that and it was because my band was too tight.

I can take a poop without passing out from pain.

I'm serious. It was that bad.

And I can eat healthful foods again. Or any foods, actually. I couldn't do that when I had the band. Liquids only. Whoo hoo. Good recipe for malnutrition... which I had.

My 2 cents..lol  I am sorry that you lost your bands.. I had mine March 16th, 2009,, I really never had any problems with it, except...I got to tight.. I started with 1 cc at surgery and then added 3 cc at 6 weeks out...Never ever had problems that were not my fault..(over eating, eating to big a bite, wrong food). Fast forward 3 yrs bandaversary. I  finally went in for a slight fill ( I felt i wasn't loosing enough weight, I had lost 70 pounds, I thought i was stuck at that point and never lossing anymore) I got the slight fill of .6cc not 6 whole cc but Point 6cc..I was miserible from day one..Puking, slimming, puking, slimming..etc... I got tired of it and I wasn't loosing any wieght at all. I went back in and got Point 6 cc taken out...I now have my original 4cc in my band and I am happy as can be.. I still get stuck some times but, its my fault.. I am not loosing any more weight but, i am satisfied with that. I will stay where i am forever. I hope I never have to have mine taken out but, if I do then so be it.. Until  then I will never get another fill. I miss going out and eating what ever i want. but, i chose this.. I wish you all that life has to offer you..Be safe and be healthy..That is all that counts....Best Wishes... Hugs.."Lucky"

Now that my band is gone I no longer have joint pain, I can ride a bike, button my sons clothing and grip a needle to sew and knit again (all things I love to do and could not b/c of the pain I was in).

Now that my band is gone...

I no longer vomit (haven't since my sleeve), so I don't have any worries going out to eat with anyone.

I eat whatever I want without worrying about if it will go down or not. I chew normally without having to make sure my food is nearly liquid before I swallow.

I enjoy consistent restriction without worrying about being tighter in the morning/in the summer/in a plane/etc.

I also reached my goal weight with the sleeve, so all that goes along with that...shopping in regular size stores, feeling like plane seats are roomy, not hiding from pictures, etc.

I also love going out to eat with friends and family, never worry about sliming or PBing.  I also love trying new recipes....I no longer gravitate towards the soup section in a cook book......go straight for the dense proteins!!  It's fun!!

Melly, I remember you! How did you get revision and what was the problems? I haven't been happy for a long time, and not gaining, but not losing either! I need some advice, feeling sick all the time isn't fun!
