I like them both in shakes etc, I also mix with the regular sugar free jam for a sandwich on a orowheat thin. If you have never had it be prepared it doesn't taste just like peanut butter but if you don't eat a lot of peanut butter do to calories or fat then its a great substitute

Pickles,
I was getting ready to tell you, that you could have mine. I always buy a jar and never use it. So I go and look and it expired last year. LOL They sell it here, in the grocery store, I think it's around $3.00 a jar. Hope you can find it and you like it.

Hi There:
I have been reading your posts for quite some time and I understand that for quite a while you have had to battle side effects of Prednisone. There are time when my husband has to take Prednisone in dealing with his Rheumatoid Arthritis. He have never been one that has had to battle with his weight. But, when he is taking the Pred his appetite is out of this world and he is starting to put on weight because of his increased appetite. Do you have any advice you can give me that I could pass along to him to help with the nighttime grazing?

honestly, when on pred it's best to adhere to low carb. Pred LOVES carbs and takes them and turns them into fat. Also, pred redistributes any fat we have and puts it in our stomaches and backs (like a hump). Luckily, when pred is lowered the fat will redistribute back to normal (most of the time).
I'm so sorry he's on pred. I've been on it 7.5 years non stop and it's not fun. Go totally low carb for him...toss the sweets, breads, pastas...anything that says low fat and is processed get rid of. Have plenty of lunch meat around for him to nibble on along with salads, fresh veggies, sugar free pudding and jello.
It's hard to stop the munching, but when you don't give the body carbs then it won't crave food as much. If he's having difficulty sleeping, tell him to discuss a sleep aid with his doc. Pred keeps me up all night and then I"m out of whack for weeks.
I hope his RA flare quiets down quickly. It's not fun being on pred that's for sure.
