Hi All!
I haven't been around on the boards for awhile but wanted to stop in and say hi!!!  I had the Lap Band in  2004 and did ok with it in the beginning.  I lost 70 pounds in the 1st year then gained back 40.  Thats where my problems began.  I started sliming all the time, food getting stuck, miserable life for 4 years.  My last straw was when water wouldn't go down.  See ya later band!!  Then I got the Bypass.  HELLO LIFE!  I went from my highest weight of 298 to my lowest of 143.  I gained a few pounds over the winter to 155 but working on getting back to 143!  I know ill get there in just a few months!  12 pounds is nothing compared to losing 143!  If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have wasted my time with the band, I would have went straight to the RNY.  Just my honest opinion!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Nicole

Hey girlie!!!  You look fantastic.  I am so glad for you.  I remember all the chit you went through with the band and  I am excited for you and your being able to move on and really live life.

As you can see, I too revised - to the sleeve.  I love my sleeved stomach - I am totally a "normal" human being with it.  Still fighting the battle of the bulge but that is fine by me  in 12's & 10"s.  With any WLS we still have to be accountable to remain healthy and fit.

Thanks for posting Nicole. I wish more of the revisioners would drop by on the band forum from time to time to tell their stories. It would really help to get the point across to those researching the band just how ineffective, and sometimes actually DANGEROUS the band really is long term! Glad you're doing so well with your RNY! :-)

I'm facing a choice  after 8 years with band need to revise to rny or sleeve.  Have you had problems with your rny?  Thanks
