I dont know where you got that there are " no major issues" 2-3  yrs out " go further out " I physically can not eat solid foods hardly at all anymore and that is not uncommon for bandsters. I felt the same as you did , I did not want to have my stomach cut , which is why I did not go with RNY or VGS at the time. I Wish with everything i have now that i did .
do more research and really read people who are 3, 4, plus years out Go do lap band complication groups !

Thanks for all the input, good and bad,, I have researched and I DO know some who are 3 + years out, some ok, some not, but no major issues with them. My decision will be based on a trust in God to lead in the right direction as I have prayed about this for over a year! With all my current health issues, I am hoping for some improvement after some weight loss, to say the least! I just do not feel that having my anatomy rearranged by other surgeries is the answer at this time! But, who knows,,, I will keep up with the group and post more later, Thanks again!
Also alot of the times people who are 2-3 yrs out do not relaize it the band who is the problem yet, I know i did not  . I thought I was doing something wrong, I was eating wrong etc. It takes some time for bandsters to realize its the BAND Not them.
I wish you all the best but I really really hope you reconsider your choice of the band.

That's what were trying to tell you. The band WILL rearrange your anatomy after a few years, just by its sheer presence.

It can strangle your stomach.

It can twist your esophagus into a corkscrew

It can adhere itself to your liver.

It can cause permanent nerve damage.

It has been related to pulmonary problems.

It will put you at future risk for esophageal and stomach cancers.

Other surgeries alter your anatomy immediately after the surgery is performed, the band takes its own sweet painful time.

I challenge any newbie to go back a year or two and find some of the old posters who aren't here anymore...click on latest posts...for a lot of them, they post of having heartburn, pbs, other issues and then BAM, they disappeared from the boards!

But someone is always here to assure us that they're just "out living their lives" or "got tired of the 'band bashing' and left."

SO ridiculous. They have their bands removed and they don't want to hear about how they "must have done something wrong." And how 99% of band problems can be resolved by changing your behavior. Must be nice to have such supreme control over your internal organs!   I know that I can barely hold my pee in a lot of the time. Nevermind controlling how my stomach reacts... or my nerves. Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough?!

How about you, Steph? Have you mastered control over your guts?
